Storage Sheds in Blue Ridge, GA

Portable sheds, cabins, and garages for the North Georgia mountains. See them in Blue Ridge or Blairsville, with free delivery within 50 miles.

In the mountains, Hilltop Horizon Sheds runs two Smart Shed lots: one on Boardtown Road in Blue Ridge and one on Gainesville Highway in Blairsville. Both keep cabins, barns, and utility sheds on the lot, so you can see the build quality before it goes up your drive.

Every Smart Shed is built in Georgia and comes with a 5-year warranty. If you need a specific size for a steep or narrow site, we can build to order, usually in about five weeks. Rent-to-own is available too.

Delivery

Free Delivery Across the North Georgia Mountains

Delivery is free within 50 miles of either lot. That covers Fannin, Gilmer, Union, and Towns counties and Cherokee County, North Carolina, including McCaysville, Mineral Bluff, Morganton, Epworth, Ellijay, East Ellijay, Blairsville, Young Harris, Hiawassee, Suches, and Murphy.

Past 50 miles, delivery is $10 per mile. Rent-to-own orders need to be within 50 miles of a lot.

Mountain delivery takes planning. Our crew uses a Mule, a compact shed mover that handles grades and tight turns a truck can't. Plan on a clear path about 2 feet wider than your building and 16 feet of overhead clearance, and expect low limbs over a wooded drive to be the main thing in the way.

What to Know About Mountain Properties

Blue Ridge and Blairsville properties are steep, wooded, and often reached by gravel roads with switchbacks.

  • Send photos of the drive. Show the turns, the grade, and anything overhead. Your dealer can tell you whether a finished building will make it or whether on-site construction is the better option.
  • Build a solid, level base. On a hillside, concrete piers or a built-up gravel pad keep the building level through freeze-and-thaw winters, so the doors keep closing square.
  • Rental cabins. If you rent your cabin to guests, a lockable shed keeps mowers, firewood, and owner supplies separate from guest space.
Permits

Shed Permits in Fannin County

In Fannin County, permits go through the Building Department at 400 West Main Street, Suite 101, Blue Ridge. If your property is inside Blue Ridge city limits, the county's checklist says you need the city's approval first.

Under Georgia's adopted residential code, a one-story storage shed of 120 square feet or less is generally exempt from a building permit. Larger buildings usually need one, and adding electricity usually needs an electrical permit. The county's permit checklist lists building setbacks of 15 feet from property lines and 50 feet from the center of the road.

Confirm before you order by calling (706) 632-8361 or visiting fannincountyga.com. Gilmer, Union, and Towns counties each set their own rules.

FAQ

Local Questions

Can you deliver up a steep mountain drive?

Often, yes. Our Mule handles grades and tight turns a truck can't. Send your dealer photos of the drive first. If a finished building can't make it, we offer on-site construction for an added charge.
